K-Lean Testing and Sample Analysis Support Project & Doping Control Officer Training Programme |
|
|
The K-Lean Testing and Sample Analysis Support Project & Doping Control Officer (DCO) Training Programme was successfully conducted by Bangladesh Olympic Association in Bangladesh from 5 to 7 July 2025. The programme was organized with participation from Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Bangladesh, with a total of 14 participants. |

The training was conducted by experts from the Korean Anti-Doping Agency (KADA), including Mr. Byungkyu Baek (COO), Ms. Minjin Oh, and Mr. Kijoo Han, who visited Bangladesh to deliver both theoretical and practical sessions. |

The opening and closing ceremonies were attended by Brigadier General Md. Asaduzzaman, Chairman of the BOA Medical and Anti-Doping Committee. The programme included classroom-based sessions at Olympic Bhaban, followed by extensive on-site practical training on sample collection procedures at the Archery Stadium, Tongi, and Bangladesh Cricket Board, Mirpur. The training aimed to enhance regional capacity in doping control, ensure proper sample collection procedures, and strengthen anti-doping practices in line with international standards. |

Welfare Activities of BOA towards the Family of departed Grand Master Ziaur Rahman |
|
|
On 15 July 2025, the Bangladesh Olympic Association extended financial assistance for the second time to the wife and son of Late Grand Master Ziaur Rahman. The support was provided as part of BOA’s ongoing welfare activities to honour and assist the families of those who have made significant contributions to sports in Bangladesh. |

BOA Holds 5th General Assembly Meeting |

On 30 July 2025, the Bangladesh Olympic Association organized its 5th General Assembly Meeting at the Kurmitola Golf Club, Dhaka Cantonment, Dhaka. |

BOA Organizes Anti-Doping Awareness Session for Upcoming International Games |
|
|
The Bangladesh Olympic Association organized an ‘Anti-Doping Awareness’ session on 28 August 2025 at 10:00 AM to educate athletes and team officials preparing for the 3rd Asian Youth Games, Bahrain 2025, and the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, Riyadh 2025. The session aimed to enhance awareness of anti-doping regulations and provide important guidance ahead of the upcoming competitions. |

Dr. Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman, Member-Secretary of the BOA Anti-Doping Committee, delivered a detailed presentation on anti-doping rules and the harmful effects of doping. This was followed by a session from Dr. Debashis Chowdhury, Chief Physician of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, who discussed sports injuries, recovery processes, and shared practical health tips to help athletes perform at their best. |

The session was presided by Brigadier General (Retd) A B M Shefaul Kabir, SGP, ndc, afwc, psc, Director General of BOA. Around 150 participants, including federation General Secretaries, athletes, coaches, and team officials, attended the programme. |

BOA Organizes a Seminar titled ‘Roadmap to Olympic Medals’ |
|
|
On 31 August 2025 at 3:00 PM, the Bangladesh Olympic Association organized a seminar titled “Roadmap to Olympic Medal” for the first time. The seminar brought together 57 participants from various National Federations, including federation general secretaries, sports organizers, and local and foreign coaches. |

BOA Secretary General Mr. Syed Shahed Reza attended the seminar as the Chief Guest. Members of the BOA Executive Committee, Executive Director of the National Sports Council, representatives of sports organizations of different forces, and BOA officials were also present. The keynote Speech was delivered by Mr. Faruqul Islam, National Course Director of BOA, who shared insights on long-term planning and collective efforts required to achieve Olympic medals for Bangladesh. |

Director General of BOA Brigadier General (Retd.) A B M Shefaul Kabir, SGP, ndc, afwc, psc presented an overview of Bangladesh’s achievements and future possibilities in Olympic sports. He outlined a three-phase strategic approach—short-term preparation in 16 disciplines for the South Asian Games, mid-term focus on 9 disciplines for major regional and international events, and long-term preparation in archery, shooting, and golf targeting the 2036 Olympic Games. |

|
Further discussions included Dr. Mohammed Mehedi Hassan, National Course Director of BOA, who emphasized structured coaches’ education at community and high-performance levels, and Ms. Raznita Chowdhury, Coach, Bangladesh Tennis Federation, who highlighted the benefits and challenges of employing foreign coaches. In his closing remarks, the Chief Guest noted that such initiatives would contribute positively to the strategic development of Bangladesh’s sports sector and help build a pathway toward the future Olympic success. |

The OCA Athletes’ Commission Forum was held from 2 to 3 September 2025 in Astana, Kazakhstan. The forum brought together athlete representatives from National Olympic Committees across Asia to discuss athlete-related issues, welfare, and engagement within the Olympic Movement. |

Olympic Solidarity Sport Administrators Course held in Sylhet |

|
An Olympic Solidarity Sport Administrators Course was successfully conducted from 8 to 11 September 2025 at the Divisional Sports Complex, Sylhet, under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee Olympic Solidarity, with overall supervision by the Bangladesh Olympic Association and management by the Divisional Sports Association, Sylhet. |

A total of 25 participants, including trainers, sports organizers and sports teachers from various schools, colleges, and Divisional and District Sports Associations of Sylhet, took part in the four-day course. The programme focused on enhancing administrative skills, effective conduct of sports activities, and promoting the values of the Olympic Movement and Olympism. Participants also delivered group-based presentations at the conclusion of the course. |

The course was conducted by Mr. Md Musaraf Husain Molla, National Course Director of BOA; Dr. Mohammed Mehedi Hassan, Senior Athletics Coach, BKSP; and Mr. Faruqul Islam, National Director, Special Olympics Bangladesh. Several expert lectures were also delivered by senior BOA officials. The closing ceremony was held on 11 September 2025, with Mr. Khan Md. Reza-un-Nabi, Divisional Commissioner of Sylhet Division and Convener of the Ad Hoc Committee of Sylhet Divisional Sports Association, as the Chief Guest. Certificates were distributed among the participants, marking the successful completion of the course. |

Game Changers Grant Programme at Rangpur |
|
|
A seminar titled “Importance of Fitness” was held on 11 September 2025 at Monohar High School, Rangpur, under the auspices of the Bangladesh Olympic Association as part of the “Game Changers Grant” programme funded by the Commonwealth Games Federation. Alongside the seminar, a quiz competition and traditional folk games were organized with active participation of students from several schools. |

Students and teachers from Monohar High School and four nearby schools/madrasas attended the programme. The seminar was chaired by Brigadier General (Retd.) A B M Shefaul Kabir, SGP, ndc, afwc, psc, Director General of BOA, while Dr. Mohammed Mehedi Hassan, National Course Director and Senior Athletics Coach of BOA, BKSP, delivered the keynote presentation. The discussions emphasized the importance of physical and mental fitness, academic performance, and overall well-being of students. |

The Honourable Commissioner of Rangpur Division and Convener of the Ad Hoc Committee of Rangpur Divisional Sports Association, Mr. Md. Shahidul Islam, ndc, attended the event as the Chief Guest. He distributed prizes among the students during the closing ceremony and assured support for the school’s developmental initiatives. |

On the occasion, BOA distributed sports equipment, including footballs and T-shirts, to each participating school/madrasa. The programme concluded with a cultural performance, creating a vibrant atmosphere and reinforcing awareness about physical fitness among students. |

The seminar provided comprehensive briefings on Games planning, operational matters, accommodation, transportation, accreditation, and competition-related logistics, enabling participating National Olympic Committees to prepare effectively for the successful participation of their delegations in the upcoming Asian Games in September-October 2026. |

BOA Organizes Athlete365 Career+ Workshop for Athletes’ Post-Career Development |

The Bangladesh Olympic Association organized a two-day workshop titled “Athlete365 Career+ Workshops” on 27–28 September 2025, marking the first initiative of its kind in Bangladesh focused on post-athlete career development. The workshop was attended by 40 athletes aged 20–30 years from various national federations. |

The programme was conducted by IOC-nominated Master Educator Mrs. Sharon Springer, Head of Education Programme at the Badminton World Federation. On the first day, interactive sessions on Self Discovery—covering Strength & Values, Interest & Skills, Passion & Impact, and Purpose & Planning—helped athletes identify their personal strengths and future aspirations. The second day focused on practical guidance on CV/Resume writing, cover letters, and job application strategies. |

|
|
The certificate distribution and closing ceremony was held on 28 September 2025, with BOA Secretary General Mr. Syed Shahed Reza as the Chief Guest. He encouraged athletes to apply the knowledge gained to build successful post-sport careers and thanked the IOC, Athlete365 Team, and the Master Educator for their support. Senior BOA officials and members were also present at the event. |
